About Stability of Transverse Vibrations Provided By Longitudinal Step-Wise Loading

Abstract eng:
In 1949 M. Lavrentiev and A. Ischlinski [1] discovered the fact that in the case of dynamically loaded bars and plates the conclusions of stability based on statics notions could result in erroneous outcome. The subject of this research is thus to analyze thoroughly the stability of elastic bars transverse vibration taking into account the longitudinal step-wise loading. Two wave processes interference is subjected to analysis. Generally, the finding of M. Lavrentiev and A. Ischlinski is confirmed and adjusted.
