Dynamical stress of beam control system for steam turbines

Abstract eng:
The principle of a steam turbine balanced control system is presented here. The dynamic stress measurement method in parts of valves on its models in the aerodynamic wind tunnel is described. The various designs of valve cone are tested. The attention is paid to the valve stem tensile and bending stress and to the cone mass influence on the natural frequency changes. The cone characteristics of its different sizes are compared and forces leading to the deflection in tension and bend are evaluated.
