DIFFERENCE IN CO2 UPTAKE OF DEMOLISHED CONCRETE UNDER DIFFERENT EXPOSURE CONDITIONS

Abstract eng:
This study aims to clarify the amount of CO2 fixation in demolished concrete under different exposure conditions, and in addition, it aims at computing the LCCO2 (Life Cycle CO2). Crusher-run and recycled aggregate were made from waste precast concrete products and were divided according to their particle size into several groups. At specific periods, the CO2 fixation was measured. The results showed that the amount of CO2 fixation was largest in the case of crusher-run exposed to alternate dry and wet conditions. The amount of CO2 fixation per 1 ton of concrete was 15.6kg-CO2, which results in reducing the LCCO2 of precast concrete by 5.9%.
