Benefits of this hydraulic material are well known and documented from numerous research works across countries. The product, also known as Slag Cement is widely used to reduce cement consumption, as well as for structures exposed to aggressive environments like sulphate attacks, Reactive aggregates and improve durability of Reinforced Concrete Structures. In last few decades, another slag has been made available by steel industry, using Corex process. The slag from this process in similar to that from blast furnace. However its behaviour in concrete in not well documented. The study reports the behaviour of Corex slag in concrete, as 50% replacement to cement vis a vis blast furnace slag. It has been observed that Corex slag differs to Blast Furnace slag with respect to ratio of CaO and SiO2 and has higher Sulphite Sulphur. However in concrete this slag behaves similar to blast furnace slag with respect to Compressive Strength and durability of concrete as cement replacing material.
