CONSTRUCTION PERFORMANCE OF LOW-CARBON CONCRETE USING FLY ASH AND GROUND GRANULATED BLAST-FURNACE SLAG

Abstract eng:
In this study, optimum combinations of the replacement ratios of fly ash (FA) and ground granulated blast-furnace slag (BS) with cement were examined from the aspect of placement performance. The combination of 20% FA and 20% BS replacement ratios was excellent at resistance to cold joint and thermal cracking, and CO2 emissions. On the other hand, the compressive strength, resistance to settlement cracking, and resistance to freezing and thawing action were affected. However, the required qualities can be ensured by appropriate placement.
