BASIC PROPERTIES OF CONCRETE USING CHLORIDE-CONTAINING RECYCLED AGGREGATE-TYPE L

Abstract eng:
In Japan, it is expected to use much the recycled aggregates for concrete because concrete wastes have been increasing but natural aggregate resources have been decreasing. However, the examination on the use of chloride-containing recycled aggregate produced from marine structures for recycled concrete has not been positively conducted in the past. In this paper, focusing on “Recycled aggregate-type L” with less environment impact and lower production cost of recycled aggregate, the influence of the use of recycled fine aggregate-type L with 0.0-0.3% of the chloride ion content on the fresh properties, the compressive strength and the steel corrosion in concrete were investigated. The conclusions were as follows; (1) more or less of the chloride ion in the recycled fine aggregate did not influence the slump loss, the air loss, the bleeding amount according to bleeding test and pressure bleeding test, the compressive strength and the setting time of concrete. (2) the steel bar in recycled concrete with 0.72kg/m3 of chloride ion content did not corrode under the mild environment. (3) when the chloride ion content in fresh concrete was 1.0kg/m3 or more, the heat of hydration became larger.
