EVAPORATIVE COOLING EFFECT OF POROUS CONCRETE WITH RECYCLED AGGREGATE

Abstract eng:
In order to promote the use of recycled aggregate and take measure to the heat island effect, porous pervious concrete is the useful materials. We evaluated the cooling effect of porous pervious concrete with recycled aggregate by focusing on the function of the adhered mortars. We measured the amount of water absorption, the internal structure of porous pervious concrete and the surface temperatures of specimens exposed outside. The experimental results showed that the adhered mortars contribute to increasing the water absorption and the cooling effect.
