EFFECT OF POROUS CERAMIC AGGREGATE PRODUCED FROM ROOF TILE WASTE ON CARBONATION OF FLY ASH CONCRETE

Abstract eng:
Porous ceramic aggregate produced from roof tile waste was used as an internal curing agent. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the porous ceramic aggregate on carbonation property of fly ash concrete. Ordinary Portland cement was replaced partially with fly ash, and coarse aggregate was partially replaced with the porous ceramic coarse aggregate. The effect of porous ceramic fine aggregate was also investigated in the case where fly ash content was 10%. The results shows that the internal curing was more effective in controlling carbonation of concrete in the case where initial sealed-curing period was shorter.
