Water to cement ratio of all of concrete was 0.5. Specimens cured in water of 20ºC and those exposed to drying in a laboratory at the age of 7 days after sealed were prepared. Replacement ratio of the molten slag for the former was 0, 15 %, 30 % and 45 % in volume and that for the latter was 30%. Results showed that amounts of elution and content of harmful substances, and physical properties of the molten slag met standard values prescribed by JIS A 5031, the compressive strength of concrete containing the molten slag was higher than that of concrete not containing the molten slag in case of 20ºC water curing independent of the replacement ratio of the molten slag which was opposite in case of exposure to drying, the splitting tensile strengths of the slag concretes were almost the same as those of the non-slag concretes for the same compressive strength, the diffusion coefficient of chloride ion of the slag concrete cured in 20ºC water was smaller than that of the non-slag concrete.
