USE OF EVA (ETHYLENE VINYL ACETATE) AGGREGATES IN PLASTIC CONSISTENCY CONCRETE: DOSAGE STUDY

Abstract eng:
The objective of this paper is to study a plastic consistency concrete dosage with a lightweight aggregate of EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) obtained from footwear-industry residue. For the dosing, 36 concrete mix ratios were prepared, and the packing conditions of the mixtures’ components; the workability of the mixtures; their resistances to compression and the efficiency factor of the composites were evaluated. It was concluded that the use of EVA in concrete aggregate is feasible, with two distinct mix ratios being proposed: with a volume content of up to 18% EVA (structural concrete 30 MPa) and content of up to 44% EVA (non-structural concrete of 15MPa).
