ENHANCEMENT OF DUCTILITY OF THE INTERFACE BETWEEN PATCHED REPAIR MATERIALS AND CONCRETE SUBSTRATE

Abstract eng:
This paper elaborates the mechanisms for enhancing the ductility of the interface between substrate concrete and patched repair materials. The authors investigated four types of specimens under bending load; three types of ones with a different interface layer at the center and one type of monolithic ones. Also conducted were FEM analysis and BCM (box counting method) employing “KAT model”, which the authors have established. The results from FEM analysis and BCM are consistent to the experimental ones in many aspects. The simulations by KAT model revealed the mechanism which leads to high ductility of the interface.
