ACHIEVING SUSTAINABILITY AND RESILIENCY IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT THROUGH THE USE OF BLENDED CEMENTS

Abstract eng:
Policy makers, owners, designers and contractors are uniquely challenged to select and implement low-carbon solutions to mitigate climate change and provide resilient, sustainable and robust structures. Concretes manufactured with blended cements intrinsically offer substantial reductions in embodied energy and extension in service life resulting in an optimal balance of economic, environmental, and societal benefits while addressing the challenges of climate change, functionality, and durability.
