000002121 520__ $$2eng$$aLow calcium fly ash-based geopolymer (LCFG) concrete binder, which results from the reaction of a source material rich in silica & alumina (low calcium fly ash) and alkaline solution, is an emerging new construction material with good engineering properties and reduced carbon footprint. Using the fly ash byproduct of thermal power plants in LCFG concrete represents a significant environmental benefit relative to its disposal and concomitant downstream health isssues. The research paper presents the sustainablity and durability potential of LCFG concrete from engineering, conservation and management points of view.
