SUSTAINABLE CONCRETE IN ASIA: APPROACHES & BARRIERS CONSIDERING REGIONAL CONTEXT

Abstract eng:
In order to understand the relationship between sustainable concrete and regional context, several qualitative investigations have been carried out in Asia, where the level of development, climate, geography, institutional systems, resource availability, construction culture, technology level, and so forth vary widely by country. This paper summarizes some of the key findings from these investigations in Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Mongolia, and Singapore and compares the approaches and barriers to sustainable concrete in order to extract regional issues and their relationship with sustainable concrete.
