COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT OF CONCRETE CONTAINING PRE-SOAKED RICE HUSK ASH

Abstract eng:
Compressive strength of concrete cubes containing rice husk ash (RHA) at low specific surface pre-soaked with equal weight of water, at free water/cement (w/c) ratio of 0.30 and 0.35 cured in water and in ambient air (uncured) at different ages were determined. The results show that presoaked RHA was reactive in concrete and the water in the RHA pores appeared to aid cement hydration at 3days at w/c ratio of 0.30.
