CHARACTERISTICS OF ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE AND EPD SCHEME OF AGGREGATE

Abstract eng:
Reducing energy use in the course of production of aggregate as building materials and minimizing the resulting environmental load during building’s life cycle require identifying the extent of environmental impacts, especially from the global warming perspective which has become a global issue. This study quantitatively analyzes the types of pollutants generated during the course of producing, transporting, using and disposing raw materials for aggregate products including both natural and recycled aggregate. Also the paper discusses the requirements for type III environmental declarations of aggregate products according to international standard ISO 21930.
