Changes in microstructure are caused by the local loss of stability in crystalline lattice. On macro-scale this process results in spending some energy given to the system on structural transformations. There is a big experimental data devoted to this problem, but it still requires an appropriate mathematical model. In the present paper we apply a one dimensional model of twocomponent medium with nonlinear interaction force and study its discrete analogue. Such method is wellknown and widely used in continuum mechanics [2]. For this purpose the system of two weakly coupled oscillators is considered. The first degree of freedom represents the center of mass displacement and another one corresponds to the relative displacement. This simple model gives the possibility to demonstrate the influence of nonlinearity on the energy exchange between the oscillators. The result of numeric calculation is depicted in Fig.1, If the initial velocity exceeds the critical value there is a rapid energy transfer from one degree of freedom to another, which leads to decreasing of initial amplitude. The same effect of energy loss is observed during experiments on dynamic plasticity[3].
