A low skyscraper, “Cajasol-Caixa-Pelli-Ayesa Tower” against the Environment and Heritage in Seville

Abstract eng:
A skyscraper, not very tall compared to other examples (39 floors high), is being built in Seville. However, this building has had problems with UNESCO, which thinks that it strikes city Heritage and Environment. Aggressions against Heritage of Seville have been widely debated in international congresses. This paper will show environmental violations in construction of this high rise building. Some of them have been collected by local inspectors in official reports, others have gone unnoticed by most. A bank is undertaking this huge project in full financial and property crisis in Spain, investing hundreds of millions in a new office and shopping building for its own use. With thousands of empty square meters built in Seville, can this skyscraper be sustainable?
