The study is conducted in the building stock of Seville, capital of Andalusia (Spain), as it contains the largest historic district of Spain, and one of the largest among Europe. While the study enforces a larger theme, that residential buildings are the building typology with the greatest influence in historic districts, this research aims to evaluate the environmental impact of the historic district in Seville through the impact generated by their residential typologies. The objective is to determine which existing method for environmental assessment is the most suitable for the historic district case to study its energy consumption. The research strives to establish a comprehensive review of the existing methods in order to determine their suitability for evaluation.
