The different stages of intervention in heritage and its economic impact on sustainability

Abstract eng:
When restoring Historical Heritage, some stages of the process such as the preliminary studies are not contemplated from the legal or economical viewpoint. It’s necessary to have enough precise updated information of the building to know how many resources we need and if it’s sustainable or not. More and more project redactors demand these studies, even having to pay themselves for them once they discover their importance and exceeding the investor’s initial expectations. The economical factor is vital for the continuity of the intervention processes, and which results finally in its own sustainability. The speech tries to establish this relationship by studying the architectonical heritage of the autonomous Community of Castile and León in Spain, searching for an economical justification that leads to obtain a methodology which encompasses the three main moments of the life of an architectonical heritage building: the diagnosis, the intervention and its maintenance.
