The coastal system of the Iglesiente among ancient mining harbors and environmental contexts

Abstract eng:
The issue of recovery has always been ‘relegated’ to the buildings of critical value, especially in urban contexts, or to "excellent" landscapes. This has been the dominant twentieth-century culture. But the twentieth century leave us a specific heritage not extensively based on objects but on production systems, infrastructure networks, complex landscapes. The coastal system of ancient mining harbors of Sulcis Iglesiente is one of these landscapes. It is not only an important historical and cultural heritage, that has been recognized by UNESCO, but a real alternative way of nowadays perception of spaces and places, in which the the ancient way of colonizing and crossing the coast may be essential in developing of the territory again. The Study on the recovery of the mining harbors of Iglesiente, tries to build an active network on these modern archaeologies and a contemporary vision that re-interprets these elements in the endless possibilities provided by an historical landscape evolution.
