Eco-tourist ways and heritage. Morphologic resetting of spaces for public uses

Abstract eng:
The purpose of the speech is to examine the typical themes for landscape and architectural design. The landscape in all its multiple facets as an economic resource and cultural system, document or social fabric has recently seen a number of researchers involved in a project aimed at comprehensively mapping all possible points of view on this issue. Landscape represents how man fits into the world, his way of acting and thinking, his social existence and his life in relation to others. This would also apply to the values and meanings which are superimposed on structural aspects linked with physical, natural, historical or social elements, which, according to this means of interpretation, must be taken as the bearing elements of the landscape issue. Public spaces are the places where a community is identified. Redesigning parts of the metropolitan landscape, implies the proposition of centrality, through the planning of the form of public spaces like substance and cultural structure and, not last, like instrument of social integration. We have to focus the attention on the question of valuating cultural and natural heritage, thinking new eco-tourist or pedagogic ways integrated with landscape and recovering historical centres or contemporary ones. We will deal with some landscape projects and public spaces designed in Sicily.
