Výkonové zpoplatnění nákladních vozidel na síti dálnic a rychlostních silnic

Abstract eng:
Since January 2007, all heavy goods vehicles with a total weight of over 12 tonnes have been charged with road tax in the motorway (D) and high-speed (R) road network of the Czech Republic. Toll rates are distinguished by the number of axles and emission classes of EURO vehicles. Since January 2008, the length of the toll D and R network (950 km) has been extended by 172 km of first-class roads. The monitoring of vehicle detour routes as one of the ways of avoiding the duty of toll payment was performed. The results did not manifest any significant permanent and intentional avoidance of toll roads by using parallel (alongside) second class roads. Tangential detour routes running along first class roads are more attractive as detour routes (10% on average). Further extension of road tax is planned for 2009 covering vehicles with a total weight of 3.5-12 t.
