000002660 520__ $$2eng$$aMohr-Coulomb yield surface is often used for static analysis of rocks in engineering practice, but in classification of rock mass the index classifications are widely used. Indexes of these classification systems can be used directly in Hoek-Brown yield function. Therefore several solutions for parameters conversion of these functions were derived. Three of them – Hoek, Brown(1990), Hoek, Carranza(2002) and Sofian, Halakatevakis(2003) are described in detail, results are compared for several rock types and some recommendations for practice are presented.
