000002692 520__ $$2eng$$aThe paper deals with the impact of yielding of mechanical joints and supports on the loadcarrying capacity as well as strain in some types of timber structures. The slips in connectors and supports of structural systems result in redistribution of internal forces and support reactions. The analysis of slip is vitally important in designing and building of timber structures, particularly in statically indeterminate systems. Joint rigidity influences substantially behaviour of the structure. Therefore the computational models involve the considerations about interaction of the structure with the underlying structure and the foundations.
