000002709 520__ $$2eng$$aThis paper deals with an effective engineering technique named Evolutionary Structural Optimization (ESO) used in structural optimization design. Leading from the general concept of the method authors describe briefly the steps of the ESO technique. Some results of structural and optimization analyses of structures having different properties using the ESO procedures are presented.
