Accuracy of Indoor Air Humidity Simulation by EMPD Method in Case of Hygroscopic Materials with Finishing Coat


Abstract eng:
The effects of moisture dependency of water vapour permeability and non-linear sorption curve on accuracy of EMPD model were analysed. These phenomena can be of importance in case of hygroscopic materials with finishing coat due to significant vapour permeability moisture dependency and non-linear sorption curve of paint coats. The accuracy of EMPD model was evaluated by comparison with the results of complex simulation model NPI. The analysis was limited to the case of limited thickness of hygroscopic layer and regular cyclic moisture production. It was found out that the accuracy of EMPD approach is acceptable in isothermal case an on condition that the resultant indoor air relative humidity is not beyond the common indoor values.
