Four walls (two eleven feet wide by twelve feet high, and two 18 feet wide by 12 feet high) were constructed of 6"x16"x8" hollow concrete masonry units and reinforced with E-glass fabric on the exterior and in two cases reinforced with 2" of 4000 psi shotcrete on the interior. The room was subject to an internal blast from a 2 lbs. TNT equivalent charge that generated pressures as high as 72 psi and 0.08 seconds in duration. This paper discusses the performance of the retrofitted walls.
