DETERMINATION OF MATERIAL PARAMETERS OF RUBBER AND RUBBER COMPOSITES BY BIAXIAL LOADING


Abstract eng:
This paper describes a method, designed for measurement of material characteristics of rubber like materials, using biaxial loading device. We present the experimental measurement and FEA simulation in Comsol Multiphysics of the response of rubber specimens from conveyor belt used for the transport of overburden in a coal mine. The results of numerical simulation are verified by experimental measurements. This work is part of a broader project that aims to increase service life of the conveyor belts.
