000008804 520__ $$2eng$$aThis paper presents reduction as a special case of static condensation. The reduction was designed for checking seismicity of high-rise buildings. A reference point is assigned to each floor. Mass matrix and the stiffness matrix of the original structure are reduced to these reference points. The presented procedure is based on the requirements of design codes and engineering practice.
