000010133 520__ $$2eng$$aAn equivalent linearization procedure is developed as a simple approximate method for predicting the inelastic seismic displacement response of MDOF structural systems. The procedure employs response spectrum analysis and capacity analysis, and is mainly based on reducing the stiffness of structural members that are expected to respond in the inelastic range. The method is verified on a 12 story RC concrete frame, under 96 ground motion components.
