000011085 520__ $$2eng$$aA simple method to assess the stiffness of a pile foundation, considering group effects, is presented. The procedure is based on the simple method of Dobry and Gazetas. The procedure is validated with the rigorous solutions of Kaynia and Kausel as well as the Dyna5 software for analysis of foundations. The method is applied to the foundation of four instrumented buildings in Mexico and the results are compared with those obtained using the Mexico City building code provisions and also with experimental data.
