Spectral inversion analyses of S-wave Fourier spectra and 5% damped response spectra of identical datasets are conducted. Based on the results of the spectral inversion, PGA, PGV and response spectrum are modeled as a function of moment magnitude, stress drop, distance with three types of Q, and Vs30. It is found that the variance of the source term is significantly decreased by adding stress drop as a parameter. This indicates that taking into account regional variations of source radiation strength is effective to reduce the uncertainty in strong motion evaluation.
