Nevertheless, regarding a monitoring system in real operational conditions, still doubts are expressed by infrastructure owners about its usefulness, its cost efficiency and reliability to produce proper warnings in due time, even in case of small defects. In this paper current trends and challenges in data analysis and monitoring equipment will be enlightened that can lead to a further breakthrough of the technology.
