Evaluation of seismic performance of semi-rigid connected prefabricated structures

Abstract eng:
Prefabricated structures are constituted by connecting separated members. Analyses of these structures are usually performed defining hinges for the connection of separated members at the nodal points. However, the assumption of semi-rigid connection instead of hinge connection is a more realistic approach for bolted connection used in the combination of prefabricated elements. In this study, seismic performance of a RC prefabricated industrial structure of which its elements are connected at the partially fixed nodal points is evaluated by nonlinear analysis method defined in Turkish Earthquake Code (TEC 2007) and Federal Emergency Management Agency “Prestandart and Commentary for the Seismic Rehabilitation of Buildings” (FEMA 356). The seismic performance of the structural system has been carried out by using incremental equivalent seismic load method (pushover analysis). The performance of the prefabricated structure has been evaluated under maximum earthquake (the probability of exceedance of the design earthquake within a period of 50 years is 2%).
