Advanced numerical models in the analysis of RC slabs under small and large displacements: FEM and AEM

Abstract eng:
An experimental approach offers precise marks in the comprehension of RC slabs behavior with the main drawback of increased costs in terms of time, human and logistic resources, etc. On the other hand, a numerical investigation allows insights of the studied phenomenon that cannot be obtained experimentally. Analyzing the slabs behavior in small and large displacements domain is an essential demand when assessing the PC risk of structures. Numerical studies regarding the slabs behavior available in technical literature adopt simplified approaches. The aim of the current studies is to identify and validate efficient numerical models capable to accurately reproduce the RC slabs behavior in small and large displacement domain.
