Some remarks on exothermic processes during forming of large-scale concrete foundations

Abstract eng:
The temperature distribution in a massive part of big dimensions concrete structure plays a significant role in obtaining a monolithic concrete mass in the whole structure. The main difficulties during the designing of process of carry and erection massive elements is determination of the temperature distribution in the structure and the influence of temperature on quality of concrete. High exothermic reaction is observed during the hydration of cement, The temperature caused increasing of volume of concrete and increasing of value of temperature and its gradient. Massive structures require controlling the speed of the hydration process by appropriate selection of the components of the concrete mix, the use of properly designed thermal insulation construction, the design of vent excess heat to the outside of the structure. Information obtained during the measurement of temperatures in important design points during the whole process, setting and hardening of concrete used in turn to the appropriate concrete curing process control. Authors of this paper carried out investigation of distribution of temperature in large scale concrete foundation. During this experiment value of temperature level and temperature gradient were under control. The foundation was time time-cooled water using your pipes installation.
