Seismic assessment and rehabilitation of the XVth century Küçük Mustafa Paşa Bath

Abstract eng:
In this study, the seismic performance of the XVth century Küçük Mustafa Paşa Bath in Istanbul, Turkey is investigated through site observations, measurements, tests and structural analyses. For this purpose, a 3D finite element model of the structure is developed and examined under the effects of vertical loads and seismic actions. Additionally, the existing damages observed on the main walls and the domes are examined thoroughly and compared with the analysis results. Following the seismic performance assessment, a rehabilitation and seismic retrofit scheme is proposed and applied by making use of innovative materials.
