The minimum film thickness of the axial section in the downstream direction was found to agree well with the prediction of the Bretherton equation; while the minimum film thickness in the across-stream direction was found to be proportion to the capillary number as the film thickness was decreasing. When the lubrication film was broken, adhesion of the droplets occurred and it was demonstrated to have potential application on the breakup of the emulsion droplet.
