It is assumed that the seabed is anisotropic in nature and the pore flow is governed by Brinkman equation and the gap flow is governed by Stokes equation. An analytical series solution is obtained for the flow inside the gap and the seabed in terms of stream function via separation of variables. It is shown that increasing of vertical permeability enhances the vertical flow, hence decreases the lift-up force. Breakout phenomenon in terms of the anisotropic ratio and the width of the gap has been discussed.
