000014279 520__ $$2eng$$aThe vibration and damping characteristics of sandwich structure with two porosity of fiber felt core were investigated in this paper. Based on the cantilever sandwich beam, modal testing and analysis of those sandwich structures and their corresponding steel beam with equal mass were carried out. The results show that the natural frequency and damping ratio are higher than those of the steel beam.With the increases of core porosity, each order natural frequency is reduced. Furthermore, with the increase of porosity, the second order and third order damping ratio are reduced.
