000014368 520__ $$2eng$$aFor uncertain problem with interval, random and fuzzy uncertainties, a unified orthogonal polynomial approximation method is developed using Gegenbauer series expansion(GSE). A simple numerical example is presented to investigate the accuracy of GSE with different value of polynomial parameter O . Based on the numerical analysis, the optimal O for GSE with fuzzy and random variable is determined.
