000001439 520__ $$2eng$$aThis paper is aimed at the problem of limit load carrying capacity of pipeline damaged by surface corrosion defects. Burst (limit) pressure is predicted using methodology developed at CTU Prague. This methodology is based on experimental data and FEM computation of plastic area of pipeline with surface defect. There are presented practical results of FEM re-computation to give a precision for this methodology. This research will continued by recalibration of this criterion.
