000014491 520__ $$2eng$$aThe interaction between an oblique shock wave and a laminar boundary layer has been studied using Direct Numerical Simulations at M = 2.25 for a shock angle β = 33.1◦ . For these shock conditions, the boundary separates and forms a large recirculation bubble. Unlike in the turbulent case, the vortices created in the shear layer are found not to be uniformly distributed along the spanwise direction because of a strong shedding intermittency.
