000014654 520__ $$2eng$$aMagnetic micro-convection of a magnetic liquid in Hele-Shaw cells is caused by the action of non-potential ponderomotive forces of its self-magnetic field. The main experimental findings of a study of the magnetic micro-convection, which are in a good agreement with analytical and numerical results obtained in the frame of the Brinkman model, are presented. It is also found that the gravitational forces play important role in the horizontal Hele-Shaw cells due to the small density difference of miscible magnetic and non-magnetic fluids.
