000001525 520__ $$2eng$$aThis contribution presents knowledge gained from a modernization of an integrated Free Forging United consisting of a CKV 2500 Push - Down Press and two QKK 20 Rail- Bound Manipulators and from setting the equipment in operation at the customer´s site in 2002.  The CKV 2500 Forging Press previously driven from a Water Accumulator Station was re-designed for a direct oil hydraulic drive and new QKK 20 Forging Manipulators were supplied to complete the Unit. The complex has been controlled by a processor which provides fully integrated control of the unit.  Further, an experience with the application of Fast Forging Valves for open-die forging techniques is going to be presented. The professional public can also be acquainted with a new Ceramic Directional Spool Valve made by ŽĎAS which can be commonly used as a pilot valve for water-emulsion control application to miscellaneous types of presses
