000015523 520__ $$2eng$$aOur proposed method identifies the feature of soft matters such as polymers, which is usually modeled as viscoelastic systems with fractional derivatives. The presented method directly extracts the order of fractional derivatives that indicates the viscoelastic effect by utilizing self-excited oscillation in the viscoelastic system produced due to velocity feedback. The fractional order is evaluated by the change of response frequency depending on the displacement feedback gain. Also, for the practical application, we theoretically show by the method of multiple time scales that nonlinear feedback can realize the self-excited oscillation with small steady state amplitude.
