NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF PIPELINE TESTS CONSIDERING RATCHETTING EFFECT

Abstract eng:
The paper deals with comparison of experimental and numerical solution of pipeline tests. Proportions of specimens used in assumed experiments have been comparable with pipelines in practice. At first two uniaxial tests are compared with numerical simulations. The next step was numerical solution of 3-point bend test and 4-point bend test. Constant internal pressure and cyclic bending loads loaded the pipeline. The results were compared with the experimental data. The main result of this study is the confirmation that Chaboche model included in used Ansys program is not able to describe correctly multiaxial ratchetting when an unialxial data are used for calibration of the model.
