MODELLING AND MODAL PROPERTIES OF A RAILWAY VEHICLE WHEELSET DRIVE WITH A HOLLOW SHAFT

Abstract eng:
The paper deals with mathematical modelling of vibration and modal analysis of an individual wheelset drive with a hollow graduated shaft. The method is based on the system decomposition into subsystems, which are modelled in special configuration spaces, and on modelling of elastic couplings between subsystems. The mathematical model respects spatial vibration of the engine linked with gear housing and nonlinear contact forces between wheels and rails. The eigenvalues of a linearized autonomous model and stability conditions are investigated in dependence on longitudinal creepage and forward velocity of the wheelset.
