The latest advances in implementation and solution of fully coupled thermal-structural problems using the finite element method – 64 bit verson of the code

Abstract eng:
In this paper the latest advances in fully coupled thermal-structural analysis of a deformable body is presented using the finite element method. The analysis is based on an improved variational formulation of conservation of energy with convective heat transfer. The model employs the updated Lagrange formulation for large deformations/large strains. It also uses the extended NoIHKH material model for cyclic plasticity of metals and the Jaumann objective rate in the form of the Green-Naghdi objective rate utilizing the Rodriguez formula in the Cauchy stress update calculation. Numerical experiment using a notched low carbon steel bar in cyclic tension will be presented and briefly discussed too.
